Chuuya Nakahara Cosplay Contact Lenses: Hat Brim Shadow Plus Bright Blue
Wide-brim hat, dark coat, and a bright blue eye. The hat and the coat are the best and worst thing that can happen to a lens: they frame the face beautifully and then drop it straight into shadow.
The shadow problem
A brim cuts light from the brow down. A blue lens under that shadow goes navy and reads as dark rather than bright. The colour has to be light enough to survive the falloff.
Tilt, do not push the hat back
Pushing the hat back changes the silhouette and looks wrong. Instead, tilt the chin up slightly and let the light come in under the brim. Same hat, same look, and the iris catches light.
Orange hair and blue eyes
The orange-red hair is a warm frame around a cool eye. That is a strong natural contrast, so keep the blue clean and cool instead of adding warmth. If the blue goes teal, the contrast softens and the face loses its snap.
The cocky half-smile
This character performs confidence. A slight, one-sided smile with the chin level works better than a big grin and keeps both eyes fully visible.
The review we hear most
“The hat ruined the first set. Tilted the chin up for the second and the blue came straight back.”
